We are surrounded by disabled people. Disability is a “condition” in which a person can be born, but it can also be caused by a traumatic accident or a progressive disease. Every human being, in my opinion, has the right to a dignified life and to be respected. In this article, you will see more information about the top five children books on disabilities.

A disabled person does not imply that he is in any way inferior. It’s difficult for us to comprehend, let alone children. Children enjoy inquiring about the natural world. They want to know something that we don’t know as if they have an unbridled need to learn. I’ve chosen five disability-related children books from my own library that I think are worth reading or even purchasing.

Top Five Children Books On Disabilities

“A One-of-a-kind Dragon Flame”

Is a fairy tale about a dragon who was born as someone else because he lacked wings and therefore couldn’t fly… But it turned out he could do a lot more than that. These children books, written in a child-friendly style, discuss disability and how to cope with it in everyday life. Wioleta Piróg, the author, is the mother of an exceptional Olisi who inspired her to write this novel. In the Czestochowa hospice, the fairy tale “The Exceptional Dragon Flame” can be purchased as a donation card.

“Benio, Dad, And The Rest Of The World,”

Tells the story of a young boy whose father is confined to a wheelchair. Benio, the main character, is a freshly minted preschooler who learns about the world by making new friends and grappling with tough questions like “why does your father use a wheelchair…”

The child, as well as his kindergarten peers, learn from their parents and kindergarten teacher. That disability has many faces and that everyone seeks to overcome their limitations.

“Tadzik And Cancer”

Is a novel about a boy who is dying of cancer, as you may have guessed. You bought it on faith, believing that children books written by the well-known and valued Blog Father had to be valuable. And you weren’t dissatisfied!! In a gentle and empathetic manner, the author Aneta Zychma allows us to accompany Tadzik in the final weeks of his life at home with his family and working on a very significant project.

Every time I read it to my children, I cry because the book is written with such sensitivity and realism at the same time. My sons are baffled as to why I am weeping, but it is an excellent opportunity to discuss. What makes me sad in this story and why. Of course, we always bring up their younger sister’s disease, which we often manage in this manner.

“Big Ideas In Small Brains”

Children Books On Disabilities

From the viewpoint of children, discusses different forms of disability, including autism, visual, motor, and intellectual disabilities, as well as prematurity and epilepsy. The heart is touched by each story told by successive children. Since it’s so ordinary and straightforward, but it’s still so revealing to the reader. It enables us to comprehend “the other hand,” a disabled child’s perspective. Both children and adults will appreciate this piece.

“Chromosomal Babies Like Me”

Last but not least :), I’d like to recommend a book that I translated from English. And that explains genetic abnormalities (chromosomal aberrations) in an understandable manner. The author uses a visual analogy of sock matching. This story teaches that everyone needs to be welcomed and understood by others. Even those with a special set of genes.

Creating a bright future for your child. If you require any other information, please let us know.
